A Phone Call (A Journey Of Mental Health) Alton Assembly Rooms

Alton Assembly Rooms

The play is a one-woman performance focusing on a girl called Jane. Jane has been sectioned and is in hospital following a suicide attempt. The play follows the conversation that she has when telephoning her mother.
The drama is derived from watching the ebbs and flows of Jane's confessions and emotions as they both try to traverse the situation they find themselves in.
The play is written and performed as a realistic commentary to inform and develop empathy but also inspire some hope.

ENDING Private View, Exhibition, Workshop, and Symposium

Sticks Contemporary

Join Sticks Gallery on the 24th November for the private view of Dewi Cary's new work, ENDING, comprising a film and photographic work. Dewi is a dyslexic artist who has experienced painful bouts of depression, which this new work explores. The film transports the audience into the shoes of the depressed person, aiming to reduce the stigma so often attached with mental illness, and highlighting that behind every label is a person.
