A magical marine scene created by the local community. Individuals and groups of all ages have worked incredibly hard by crocheting, knitting, lacing, crafting and painting to create this exhibition and every piece of work is appreciated, large and small. So why not join in! The scene is still growing and you are invited to create work for it while it is still here.
A collection of winning images from the prestigious International Garden Photographer of the Year (IGPOTY) Ten Year Anniversary Exhibition. The career of Agnes Martin (1912 – 2004) spanned nearly five decades. During this time, she became one of America’s foremost abstract painters. Her style was underpinned by her deep belief in the emotive and expressive power of art. She sought to represent how nature made her feel and could make us feel – humble, joyous, free. For Agnes, the horizontal line was her joy; the expanse of the horizon and open plain or the serenity of the sea.
The art in this exhibition is a response to prehistoric man's influence on today's landscape, and a reflection on our relationship with the distant past. Mysterious stone circles, intriguing barrows, exhilarating hill forts and illuminating finds: the essence of history, of human hopes and fears over the years.
Andover Museum is open from 10:00 - 17:00 Tuesday-Friday, 10:00 - 16:00 Saturday. Entrance to the exhibition is free, but donations are welcome.
