"Good holiday for learning about the New Forest"

"The New Forest Centre, in the main car park in Lyndhurst, has a very good museum of things to do during the school holidays...they have Discovery days, when children go free, making all sorts of things, like butterflies and hobby horses, plus other craft things to do with the forest and the Commoners.(there is a charge for materials) There is also a Library with lots of pictures and photos of the Forest people and places, maps and even able to trace your local family tree if you have some information to start with. It is also the starting place for the open top New Forest Tour buses, now with three routes, hop on and off where you like."
