Jarik Jongman (Amsterdam, 1962) went to the Art Academy in Arnhem (NL) and worked as an assistant for Anselm Kiefer in France, in 1995.
He has exhibited internationally and participated in Venice Biennale 53 and 54, in collateral events.
In 2010 he won joint first prize at the UK National Open Art Competition, juried by Gavin Turk. He was shortlisted for the John Moores Painting Prize 2012, exhibiting at the Liverpool Biennial. In 2017, he won the Luxembourg Art Prize. In 2020 he received a Gottlieb Foundation grant.
