The 'Visions' Art and Photography groups consist of individuals who are affiliated to Southampton Day Services.

In 2004 small Painting groups were set up so that the individual could experience working with new materials that they would not have had the opportunity to use before. These included Canvases, Acrylic and Oil paints, modelling plaster, Oil pastels, clay, Palette knives etc. The groups commenced by learning about colour and colour mixing, making marks on paper with different materials and then learning to mix colours. Individuals also have drawn from Still Life .

From this , Artists helped to construct Canvases putting the wooden beams together and priming the canvas, they then proceeded to paint and create on the Canvas a work of art. All this process has given the individual the opportunity to experience new ideas and broaden their senses and develop their motor skills.

In 2006 the groups discussed the idea of exhibiting work in the local community and selling it, they held their first Exhibition in July 2006 at Hanger Farm Arts Centre in Totton, this proved highly successful and over £500 of work was sold.

Following on from that Artists have exhibited at The Civic Centre, The Marlands Shopping Centre, The Art House Gallery Cafe, Spice Art Studios that was, LordsHill Library, having now sold over £5000 worth of work.

An Artist successfully exhibited in an Open Exhibition at Pallant House Art Gallery in Chichester in West Sussex in 2011 and Photographers have been awarded prizes in the St.Denys Photography Competition.
