Founder member of The Furrow Collective, The Emily Portman Trio and The Shee, singer and harpist Rachel Newton is joined on tour by Lauren MacColl on fiddle and Mattie Foulds on percussion. Rachel released ‘Here’s My Heart Come Take It’ in April 2016, a mix of English, Scottish Gaelic and original compositions, her music has been called ‘the sound of modern Scotland’. She draws on folklore and tradition and then applies her own singular vision, creating music that is beautiful and haunting.

The Sorting Office is opening its doors to the public on the 17th & 18th of June for its annual Summer Open Studios event.
The weekend is a chance for visitors to browse the vibrant studio spaces and buy an exquisite array of wares, expertly hand-crafted by local designer-makers.
The studios' 17 resident artists will be on hand to welcome visitors, talk about their crafts and show off their work.

In this talk Dr Amanda Richardson, lecturer at Chichester University, will trace the history of deer parks from the 16th to early 18th century, exploring how the parks and fallow deer within them played a key part in English national identity. Our local area is still home to many deer, including Petworth Park which has a herd of over 900 fallow deer.
Celebrate! We have one of our favourite bands returning to bring the joy to our sunny little Altonian faces. Tree House Fire are just fantastic- full of reggae, soul and ska vibes with a cheeky grin and a whole heap of infectious songs. HOLMES FEST WILL CELEBRATE ARTHUR CONAN DOYLE IN PORTSMOUTH THIS JUNE
The writers and musicians of Portsmouth cordially invite you to attend Holmes Fest to celebrate the arrival in 1882 of one of its most famous residents: Arthur Conan Doyle, who created super-sleuth Sherlock Holmes while living in Southsea.
Specially-penned stories by local authors, Victorian music hall songs, projection and duelling will all feature in this fun night dedicated to Doyle, Holmes, Victoriana and Portsmouth.
Chris Wood is an uncompromising writer whose music reveals his love for the unrecorded history of the people, so it’s only right that his new album ‘So Much to Defend’ touches on minor league football, empty nest syndrome, learning to swim, Cook-in Sauce and, not least, the Gecko as a metaphor for contemporary society.
