Camp Bestival has got to be THE summer holiday must do activity for all families, as it’s the only festival where kids are most certainly king ….
There’s no denying a family ticket is going to make a sizeable dent in your wallet ( thank goodness for the weekly payment plan ) however we can whole heartedly confirm it’s worth every last penny; as we’re forever amazed at how much FREE , awesome stuff is on offer for children of all ages.
So to give you a flavour of what you can expect at Camp B aside from the music, we’ve picked out just a few of this year’s highlights, from a very vast array of what’s on offer for your little Kings and Queens..
For the little-uns
ALIENS LOVE UNDERPANTS
Heading straight for our universe, direct from London’s West End, we’re delighted to announce that the acclaimed adaptation of smash hit children’s book, Aliens Love Underpants will be making a very special appearance at Camp Bestival.
DICK AND DOM
Watch out Camp Bestival, the UK’s biggest mischief makers in the land are going to be back this year with even more mishap and mayhem!
No Camp Bestival would be complete without the one and only Mr Tumble! We can almost hear the rumble of anticipation from our youngest audience members already! Our favourite king of the clowns will be joining us again for his usual mishaps and mischief, whipping up his pre-school groupies into levels of unparalleled excitement.
For the first time, Small and Tiny Clanger will be at Camp Bestival to spread Clanger kindness and have lots of Outer Space Fun! Festival goers of all ages can enjoy the Clangers Space Show which will be performed each day.

KIDS TALENT SHOW WITH PAN’S PEOPLE
We are delighted to announce the Camp Bestival Kids Talent Show 2016!
The Kids Talent Show will run each afternoon in the Bollywood Tent in the Magic Meadow judged by the legendary Pan’s People! There will be a winner for each day – the prize each day is 2017 Camp Bestival Tickets with Camp Bestival Merchandise for the runners up and of course a coveted Camp Bestival rosette for everyone who enters!
Students from the Community Arts Practice course at the BRIT School will be leading fun, physical and creative dance and drama workshops across the festival, as well as performing. In the workshops you will have the opportunity to learn some sections from the show and meet some of the characters. Expect a fantastic fusion of Space exploring, singalong and funky moves as we fly high up into the galaxy. A brand new show exclusive for Camp Bestival! Watch our performances in the Big Top and then learn some new moves in Bollywood!
The Freesports Park blasts it’s way back in to camp for another year of ‘have-a-go’ sessions including bouldering, parkour, BMX-ing, skateboarding and slack-lining. As well as getting everyone involved and extreme, they will also be featuring demo sessions with some of the UK’s most talented pro’s. Sweeet. This year Penny Skateboards joins the Camp Bestival line up! Showcasing it’s Skate School Experience – a great activity to entertain the kids or for all the family to enjoy. Drop by the stand in the Freesports Park to sign up for one of the FREE group lessons on offer and learn how to cruise on a Penny skateboard – but hurry as spaces are limited!.
And for the teens
Returning for a third year is The Den our first of its kind area for ages 13 to 17, curated by a small team of young festival producers. Our genre-spanning line-up won’t disappoint with contemporary folk, live drum and bass and house you like, along with special guests from Kiko Bun, Dawson, Luke Thomas and the very best bits of Rob da Bank’s Music Club plus film screenings, open mic sessions and much more.
ROB DA BANK’S MUSIC CLUB
This year Rob da bank’s Music Club will be in a beautiful new cata tent with a more house party feel – great new decks from our friends at Pioneer with sofas and a great sound system to make those celebrity DJ master classes really come alive!
Don’t miss Hip-Hop Philosophy from Oxford’s Urban Music Foundation so those of you between 13 and 17 can improve your lyrical dexterity! What are the possible Philosophical interpretations of your favourite Hip Hop lyrics? Are MCs natural Philosophers? Can classic philosophical stories be put to a beat? Ponder these questions and more as you delve into the world of Philosophy with your Hip Hop guides!
Southampton’s legendary Pedro will be on hand with MC workshops, London’s Rogue Elements teaching Street Dance, Isle of Wight’s professional Singing Teachers, Lyric workshops and Rap workshops, Guitar workshops, Loop Pedal workshops and making your own Music Video!
Learn some really clever stuff, while having a go ..
Our brand new space-tastic Mission Control tent will play host to a wondrous selection of celestial thrills including the award winning National Space Centre team who will be on hand presenting exciting challenges and intriguing facts to inspire all at Space Camp Lulworth, and you’ll get the chance to win a National Space Centre family pass, too. You can witness science experiments, learn about the universe and join a mission to Mars with The Science Museum. Plus, The UK Space Agency will be taking a leaf out of Tim Peake’s exercise programme with some space-themed fitness and health activities. And don’t miss the Space to Earth Challenge a special space-themed walk around Camp Bestival, where fancy dress is positively encouraged! Come and defy gravity with us.
The Science Tent is a mix of science based performances on the Science Stage, timetabled science, technology workshops and drop-in sessions. Join The Rasberry Pi Foundation and Code Club in their Astro Pi workshops – Tim Peake has one on the International Space Station with him! Explore comets and asteroids and learn how to cook up your own hairy star, make a CD Hovercraft, then make a HUMAN Hovercraft! Launch a Paper Rocket, Make a Sound Straw, join the Silly Science team Slime Workshop and much more!

Art Town is the best spot on site to get covered in glitter! Offering a huge range of drop-in activities running all weekend including sculpting with cardboard, colouring-in, recycled fashion, knitting and sticking and cartoon storyboarding all under one canvas roof! Also look out for The Card Yard and Colouring In Corner right next door to Art Town!
WORLD RECORD BREAKING BUBBLE SHOWS
You may have experienced Samsam Bubbleman’s “Bubble Inc” bubble stall, but now he’s stepping out of his busy international schedule to bring his Giant Bubble Show to Camp Bestival for the very FIRST TIME! Challenge 25: We will be operating and enforcing a strict Challenge 25 policy at Camp Bestival. If you can’t provide valid identification when asked, you will be asked to leave the site and come back with your ID. So if you are lucky enough to look 25 or younger, please make sure that you bring an acceptable form of identification.
Valid forms of ID include:
– An in date photographic driver’s license or provisional licence.
– A valid passport (not a photocopy). Out of date passports will NOT be accepted.
– A Proof of Age Standards Scheme Card (showing the PASS hologram).
2/ Adult and Student Tickets can only be used by persons age 18 or over on day the festival starts.
3/ Age 5-9, 10-12 and 13-17 Tickets can only be purchased by an appropriately aged adult (see below).
4/ By purchasing a Child (age 4 & under, 5-9 or 5-10) Ticket or a Teen (age 13-17) Ticket you are confirming that you are either the parent, legal guardian or nominated guardian of the teen or child for whom you are purchasing.
5/ Ticket holders under the age of 18 can only enter the festival with the person who purchased their ticket i.e. their parent, legal guardian or nominated guardian. Any under 18 ticket holders attempting to enter the festival without this person will be denied entry to the festival. For safety reasons, any persons attempting to enter the festival with a Child Ticket holder that they are not the parent, legal guardian or nominated guardian for will be denied entry.
6/ Age 10-12 and 13-17 Weekend and Day Tickets must be accompanied by a Ticket holding parent, guardian or nominated guardian. Full details below:
– All young persons (aged 10-17) MUST camp in the same area as their families.
– A maximum of 4 young persons (aged 10- 17) per adult – MUST be the parent, legal guardian or appointed guardian.
– All young persons (aged 15-17) MUST be accompanied by an adult over the age of 30 – MUST be the parent, legal guardian or nominated guardian.
– All young persons (aged 10-14) MUST be accompanied by an adult over the age of 26 – MUST be the parent, legal guardian or nominated guardian.
7/ Nominated Guardians must complete a Non-Legal Guardianship Form and bring this with them to the festival. As with parents and Legal Guardians, the nominated guardian must be appropriately aged according to term number 6 to accompany a child or teen to the festival and comply with the other rules regarding entry.
8/ Each adult attending can accompany up to a maximum of 4 Teen Ticket (age 13-17) holders.
9/ Teen Ticket holders must camp in the same location as their families.
10/ Teen Ticket holders are not allowed in the arena field unaccompanied after 10pm.
11/ Teen ticket holders must be accompanied by their parent/guardian at all times after 10pm.
12/ Child Ticket (age 4 & under, 5-9 or 10-12) holders are not allowed in the arena or campsites unaccompanied at any time.
13/ Student Tickets are for full-time students only. Valid NUS or ISIC ID required at the box office. No other student ID accepted.
14/ Prior written permission is needed by Camp Bestival Ltd to use Camp Bestival tickets in any sales promotions, media, marketing, reward programmes, staff incentives, raffles, auctions or general competitions. ‘Camp Bestival’ is a registered trademark; the Camp Bestival logo and any related Camp Bestival artwork cannot be used without written permission of Camp Bestival Ltd.
